Advantages
1. Unified University-level platform
The system provides a unified solution for creating and publishing academic conferences across the University. It helps reduce fragmented practices and improve consistency in conference information publishing.
2. Lower setup and management costs
The system is available to all University staff free of charge. It helps reduce the time, effort, and cost involved in setting up conference information webpages and managing related processes.
3. Support for the main conference information publishing workflow
The system supports a wide range of common conference information publication needs, including conference webpage creation, participant registration, payment, abstract submission, review, programme publication, and automated email notifications.
4. System security and stability
The system is locally developed and maintained by MITS, helping ensure conference data security and system stability.
Limitations
1. Self-service operation is required
The system is designed for self-service use. Conference organisers are expected to complete most setup and management tasks themselves, with supporting guidance and basic assistance available where needed.
2. Limited design customisation
As a standardised academic conference information publishing system, it offers a relatively consistent page structure and set of functions. It does not support extensive page customisation or custom feature development for individual conferences.
3. Fixed domain structure
Conference webpages created in the system use the standard domain structure beginning with indico.xjtlu.edu.cn/ and do not support customised domains.
Note: The system is intended to provide technical and digital support only. It does not cover operational conference services such as conference organisation and delivery, guest reception, hotel booking, venue coordination, catering arrangements, or other related services.
